Director of Artistic Operations
Isabel Kim joined the New York Youth Symphony as Artistic Operations Manager in September 2015. Prior to joining NYYS, she was Associate Producer at Symphony Space, and has also worked with the American Composers Orchestra and River Concert Series. She occasionally produces for the New Sounds radio program at WNYC. She conceived and is producing the upcoming synesthetic art and music installation, "Mysterium Novum," opening at WhiteBox in June 2016.
As a clarinetist, Ms. Kim has performed with Arabesque Winds, The Nouveau Classical Project, Hotel Elefant, Rochester City Ballet, Glens Falls Symphony, Chesapeake Orchestra, This Ambitious Orchestra, Mimesis Ensemble, and Eastman BroadBand. Recent engagements include the Wooster Chamber Series, Music for Montauk, WOW (an opera based on the Milli Vanilli scandal), New York Fashion Week, Saturday Night Live, and the world premiere of John Luther Adams’ Sila at Lincoln Center Out of Doors.
Ms. Kim is an alumna of NYYS, Juilliard Pre-College, Manhattan School of Music Pre-College, and the Eastman School of Music (BM).
