| Attendance |
|
Attendance guidelines are established so that each participant
may understand what is expected of him or her in order to gain the
most from the program. In case of an expected absence, it is imperative for participants to notify the Program Manager in writing at least 24 hours in advance (two weeks if possible). Failure to attend a workshop session or tutorial without giving such notice is grounds for dismissal, regardless of the reason. If the student is unable to provide notice, he or she must contact the Program Manager within 24 hours after the session to confirm continuation in the Program.
Lateness by more than 30 minutesconstitutes a ½ absence. The Program Manager determines timing and lateness. Leaving early by more than 30 minutesconstitutes a ½ absence. The Program Manager determines timing and lateness. |
| Possible Exceptions |
Infractions of the Attendance Policy affect the morale of the
entire Program. Composers are strongly urged, therefore, against
unnecessary absence or tardiness. Even if an unavoidable
conflict arises, exceptions will not be granted to students with an
unfavorable pattern of absence. Exceptions which are possible,
but not guaranteed, are as follows:
Note: Religious celebrations such as confirmation and bar/bat mitzvahs are not considered possible exceptions. |
