The New York Youth Symphony is an independent, not-for-profit institution dedicated to enriching the lives of young people through the study and performance of music. Your support helps provide young musicians with high-quality music experiences, all while keeping these opportunities tuition-free.

You can show your support in two different ways: make a contribution to our annual operating fund through the Patrons for the Future membership program, or secure the future of the Scholarship Fund by contributing to the Next Generation Fund endowment and reserve funds.

$250 – Subsidizes one Jazz Band Classic workshop

$500 – Presents one Making Score guest lecturer

$1,000 – Underwrites space for one orchestra rehearsal

$2,500 – Subsidizes one performance at Symphony Space

$5,000 – Funds the full cost of participation for one student musician

Next Generation Fund

Encouraged by a challenge grant of $300,000 from the Mary Flagler Cary Charitable Trust, the New York Youth Symphony is undertaking a campaign with the goal of increasing its endowment and reserve funds to $4 million. Thus far, $3.5 million has been raised toward our goal.

The primary purpose of the New York Youth Symphony’s Next Generation Fund Campaign is to assure the Symphony’s ability to perform its vital mission for future generations of musicians by increasing endowment income to an amount adequate to meet the rising costs of its programs while ensuring that no deserving student is turned away from participating in those programs for lack of financial support.
