Ted Lane

Clarinet | Orchestra

Ted Lane is Principal Clarinetist and soloist with the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional del Ecuador and the American Sinfonietta. A student of legendary Clarinetist Stanley Drucker (who served 60 years with the New York Philharmonic). Mr. Lane also studied with other world class clarinetists’ such as; Leon Russianoff, Sidney Forrest, Larry Combs, Karl Leister and W. James Jones.

He was awarded the prestigious Naumburg Scholarship to study at Juilliard where he received his degrees. While in New York he performed regularly with the New York Philharmonic, Musica Aeterna, Festival Winds and with the American Woodwind Quintet, which he co-founded. He also served as principal clarinetist with the National Orchestral Association under the direction of legendary conductor Leon Barzan (principal violist of the NBC orchestra at 18 years of age under Auturo Toscanini).

Mr. Lane has toured throughout Europe and the United States performing and teaching in the most renound music halls and conservatories.
He was awarded “First Prize” of the “Naftzger Young Artist Competition in 1976” and awarded “First Prize” of the International Clarinet Associations “International Competition in 1983.”
