Founded in 2007, the ACME Quartet has quickly become a performance pioneer in contemporary masterworks of the 20th and 21st centuries. The ACME Quartet is the Quartet-in-residence for the American Composers Music Ensemble, which was founded in 2004. By performaing and commissioning works by up-and-coming as well as established composers, the ACME Quartet aims to promote classical contemporary and avant-garde music as a necessary and prevalent component of New York City’s cultural scene.
