Guest artist LEW SOLOFF, trumpet, has performed with Latin jazz greats Machito and Tito Puente and was a member of Maynard Ferguson’s and Gil Evan’s bands of the 1960s. He branched out into the pop world in 1968 when he joined Blood, Sweat & Tears, recording such hits as “Spinning Wheel.” Mr. Soloff’s current projects include the Manhattan Jazz Quintet, of which he is a founding member, US’N, and the Pocket Brass Band. Recent recordings include With a Song in My Heart on Milestone and an album with his regular ensemble, The Food Group.
