Mark Peskanov

Russian-born violinist Mark Peskanov won an Avery Fisher Career Grant and Carnegie Hall’s first Isaac Stern Award in 1985. He was presented with the first Frederick R. Mann Young Artist Award following his performance with the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Mann Music Center in 1987.

Mr. Peskanov has been a guest soloist on numerous occasions with the Chicago Symphony and the New York, Los Angeles and London Philharmonics as well as the Cleveland and Philadelphia Orchestra, among others. He has appeared regularly at the summer festivals in Aspen, Boulder, Grant Park, the Mann Music Center, Tanglewood and the Hollywood Bowl. He has performed as a soloist with orchestras and chamber ensembles throughout North America as well as in Australia, Japan, the Middle East, Europe and South America. His most recent engagements include tours with the NHK orchestra in Japan and with Maestros Leonard Slatkin and Wolfgang Sawallisch performing the violin concertos of Hindemith and Mendelssohn.

Mr. Peskanov is the Music Advisor to the Woodstock Mozart Festival in Illinois where he performs and conducts. Mr. Peskanov is also a gifted composer. His recording of Stravinsky’s L’Histoire du Soldat on Koch Records was nominated for 2003 Grammy Awards. He is executive and artistic Director of Bargemusic. He has collaborated with the Manhattan Symphonie on several occasions with Mr. Gregory Singer’s conducting. Works include, but not limited to concertos by Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Sarasate, etc.
