One of the most in-demand and influential trumpeters of his generation, Mike Rodriguez has been featured with such artists as Chick Corea, Kenny Barron, Chico O’Farrill, and Charlie Haden. A master of bebop, modern jazz, and Afro-Latin music, Rodriguez is at home in any setting. For this concert, the NYYS Jazz Ensemble will will explore a wide variety of styles showcasing his abilities as one of today’s leading voices on jazz trumpet, as well as the ever-evolving pathways within the jazz language.
